Privacy Policy

Mastin Harris Family Wealth Protection Pty Ltd (ABN 38 692 294 830) provides family wealth protection, estate planning structure and succession services. We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

We are a related business of Mastin Harris Accountants (Mastin, Harris & Associates Pty Ltd, ABN 84 159 421 913). The two businesses are under common ownership but are separate entities. We do not receive information about you from Mastin Harris Accountants unless you authorise it in writing.

Depending on how you deal with us, we may collect your name and contact details; information about your family, beneficiaries and relationships; your assets, debts and entities (companies, trusts and SMSFs); copies of Wills, powers of attorney, deeds and other documents; and tax and financial information.

Some of this can be sensitive information, such as information about the health or disability of you or a family member. We only collect sensitive information with your consent and only where it is relevant to the services you ask for.

The Stress Test runs in your web browser. Your answers are not sent to us unless you choose Send my report and tick the consent box. If you do, we receive your name, contact details, score, the situation you selected and a summary of your answers. The submission is processed by our form provider, Jotform.

If you use Email my results instead, your report is sent from your own email account.

We use your information to prepare for and provide the Family Protection Snapshot and any implementation work; to communicate with you; to coordinate with LY Legal and your other advisers when you ask us to; to meet our legal and professional obligations; and to tell you about our services. You can opt out of marketing at any time using the unsubscribe link in our emails or by contacting us.

We may disclose your information to LY Legal Pty Ltd when you instruct us to have documents prepared; to your accountant, financial adviser or lawyer where you authorise it; to service providers who host our forms, email and files; and where required or permitted by law. We do not sell your personal information.

Some of our service providers, including our form and email providers, may store or process information outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to ensure they handle it securely and consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Our website uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, for example how many people start or finish the Stress Test. It uses cookies and reports in aggregate; it does not give us your Stress Test answers. You can block analytics cookies in your browser settings.

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including access controls and multi-factor authentication. We keep records for as long as needed for our services and legal obligations, then destroy or de-identify them.

You can ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you. If you have a privacy concern, contact us first and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
